This blog is part of the TMD 424 Fashion Theory and Analysis course. The students consider our place in today’s fashion “Zeitgeist,” look at their existence as a result of the last couple of decades of fashion history, and to create fashion forecasts and SWOT analysis addressing a label’s perceived concerns. To this end the students are contributing blog posts on current news and developments in the apparel trade and world of fashion.
In the Spring Term of 2015 the blog was joined by a group of students at the University of Iceland attending the course “Fashion and Apparel: Theories and Analysis of Material Culture in an Industrialized Market Society.” They looked at the world from a specifically Icelandic perspective.
We were also fortunate to have the collaboration of Montclair University (New Jersey) where freshman-level students followed the blog as a part of their studies with professor Emily Pascoe in ARTX122 (Clothing and Culture.)
