Social Media in Fashion

Fashion locally and globally can be connected very easily due to social media. American’s are very apt to use it to get new inspiration, check out the latest styles and trends; especially “street style.” The best social media outlet in finding this information is Pinterest. It’s so easy, find a photo of something you like, and pin it to the board it best fits. 18% of adult online users are on Pinterest. Only 2% of Europeans are on Pinterest. That is a huge gap.

The article I found this information on mentioned that Europeans do not like to share much about themselves because they look at it as bragging. But when you go on Pinterest, a lot of the posts are of  Europeans fashions and styles.

While we have so many “fast fashion” retailers in the states, which some are European companies, it may give us the clothing to achieve the looks we see in the media, we just don’t have to same personalities.

  1. “European” covers a very large group of people, with many different cultures, can they really be all grouped together? Or do we have something more precise in mind when we say “European”?
