Cara Delevingne, the very well known supermodel teams up with DKNY to create a new line called CaraD4DKNY. The model aims to design unisex clothing for both genders, people of any size shape or age. She used inspiration from clothing she wears to travel along with street wear. Delevingne also used inspiration from her old snowboarding clothing to her tattoos and favorite colors that add a touch of herself to the collection. The advertising around this new collection revolves completely around social media, particularly Instagram. CaraD4DKNY is aimed for people on the go and can change quickly, aimed for city life.

  1. It is safe to say that Cara Delevingne is literally EVERYWHERE. She has been spotted everywhere from runway shows in Paris Fashion Week, to be seen spotted with A-list celebs such as Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift etc. She is becoming such an icon because she is relatable to the young population because she is seen as “cool” and “hip.” I think that this DKNY line will be a good seller and catch the attention of many. I liked how she used inspiration from her tattoos and snowboard clothing because I feel as though it will give the clothes and edgy look that few have done before.

  2. As she says above, Cara is everywhere. It’s so fitting that she’s creating a unisex line, because as a top model she’s doesn’t have a feminine or girly style. After stunning everyone in pants and a crop top at the 2014 Met Gala, she certainly is an ambassador for androgyny. By only marketing through social media, it is easy to see that the target market for this line is the millennial generation. Is social media exclusive advertising the future? Once it starts, can we ever look back?
