Kohls found guilty for selling real fur…again

Consumers are now being more cautious than ever….Kohls Men’s hooded parka was discovered to be real raccoon fur. This parka which was marketed as fake fur, was found to be real when the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) tested it out. It was immediately taken from the line and no other parkas could be purchased. Kohls has apologized to its customers but some find it hard to believe them since this isn’t the first time Kohls has been in this situation. Last year, HSUS found out the fur on a handbag was real rabbit fur. I find it interesting and shocking that Kohls, along with many other companies run into this problem more frequently then they should.

  1. If this is a reoccurring problem, what needs to change to remedy the problem? There are groups checking post production – are there any oversight groups at earlier stages of the process? Are companies themselves adequately policing this issue, if not – why?
