BALMAIN SUIT NEARLY IDENTICAL TO GIVENCHY LOOK IN 97 BY ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

McQueen may be gone, but the legacy he left behind sure isn’t. It has recently been discovered that designer Oliver Rousteing for Balmain designed a pant suit for the Spring 2015 collection that undoubtedly resembles McQueen’s piece from the 1997 Givenchy Haute Couture collection.

  1. This is a striking resemblance, I think Olivier Rousteing was inspired for sure because it’s impossible to be a pure coincidence.. However by knowing a bit the young Balmain’s designer -I’ve read many articles about him recently for my paper on the collaboration between Balmain and H&M…- I’m sure he is too proud and ambitious for just copy and past Alexander McQueen’s design.. Maybe I tried to appropriate this cutting-edge suit by just adding the long blazer on shoulders, but in my view he failed…
