Sarah Burton on Kate Middleton’s ‘Mcqueen’ Wedding dress

In this article Burton discusses for the first time Kate Middleton’s wedding dress and how she honors Kate’s privacy. I found this article interesting because this was her first large hit since Mcqueen’s passing and even though it would have been a great opportunity for press she remained discreet and did not speak about the design process or Kate wishes, even three years later. I feel this shows a great deal of designer integrity and that she will be able to carry on the Mcqueen legacy by upholding the respect of his brand.

  1. It’s a tough act, to be a “legacy” designer. I agree, she has played her hand very well. I suspect she will start to put her own imprint on the brand very soon (or branch out…?)
